Next Mission partners with property owners and landlords to provide quality housing opportunities for veterans in the Richmond Region.
Through our master lease model, Next Mission leases qualifying residental properties directly from property owners and manages the day-to-day housing operations. Our goal is simple: provide owners with a dependable leasing relationship while creating stable housing opportunities for veterans.
Property owners can benefit from:
One Primary Point of Contact - You work directly with Next Mission rather than coordinating separately with multiple residents.
Consistent Rent Structure - Rent is paid according to the terms of the master lease between the property owner and the Next Mission.
Property Oversight - Next Mission conducts routine property monitoring and addresses resident related concerns.
Resident Screening - Prospective residents are evaluated according to Next Mission's eligiblity and screening policies.
Clear House Rules - Residents must comply with established standards regarding visitors, cleanliness, conduct, safety and respect for the property.
Responsive Communication - Property owners have a designated contact for questions, maintenance coordination and property concerns.
Veteran-Focused Mission - Your property helps provide veterans with safe, stable housing and an opportunity to move toward greater independence.
Next Mission understands that your property is a significant investment. We establish clear expectations for residents regarding cleanliness, property care, guests, conduct, safety, prohibited activites, and reporting maintenance concerns.
Our operating procedures include resident agreements, written house rules, periodic property inspections where permitted, maintenance reporting procedures, emergency contact protocols, and documentation of resident or property concerns.
Next Mission does not replace the property owner's responsibilities under the lease or applicable law. Our objective is to create a clear division of responsibilities and maintain open communication throughout the partnership.
Who signs the lease?
Under a master lease arrangement, Next Mission enters into the lease with the property owner according to the terms agreed upon by both parties.
Who manages the residents?
Next Mission manages resident intake, resident agreements, house rules, and routine resident-related matters.
Who handles property maintenance?
Maintenance responsibilities are clearly defined in the master lease. Next Mission can coordinate maintenance reporting with the property owner or designated property manager.
How many veterans will live in the property?
Occupancy depends on the property's size, configuration, applicable laws and regulations, and the terms agreed upon with the property owner.
Can I review the proposed lease before agreeing?
Absolutely. Property owners should have an opportunity to review the proposed master lease and may have it reviewed by their own attorney or other professional before signing.
What happens if there is a problem with a resident?
Next Mission serves as the primary point of contact for resident-related issues and addresses concerns according to its resident agreements, policies, the master lease, and applicable law.
Does Next Mission guarantee there will never be property damage?
No housing arrangement can eliminate that risk entirely. Next Mission's approach is designed to reduce risk through screening, written expectations, property oversight, communication, and resident accountability.
